Another stop on my Boulder foodie recovery tour: Cozobi Fonda Fine, a modern Mexican gem that made my first real meal out post-surgery feel truly special.
Before I even ordered, the staff had already reviewed my full list of allergies with the chef and confirmed safe options for me to enjoy. That kind of care immediately put me at ease — it’s rare to feel both seen and safe when eating out with such a complex allergy list. The service was warm, gracious, and thoughtful from start to finish.
The table’s picks:
Ivey and Kim decided to share everything — Caesar salad, scallops, and bluefin tuna — and both loved their meal, giving it a 5/5 (Ivey) and 4.5/5 (Kim). They ended on a sweet note with a tres leches cake made with corn cake, which they said was light, rich, and unforgettable.
For me, the chef prepared a modified Carne Asada that worked perfectly with my restrictions, along with a sweet potato topped with ricotta cream and a side salad with lemon and olive oil dressing. Everything was flavorful and beautifully plated, though the steak could have been served a little hotter — I’d give it a 4/5.
It meant so much to have friends rally around me for this first “big deal” meal out after surgery. The laughter, good food, and sense of normalcy felt healing in their own way. Boulder has been the perfect place to recover — full of thoughtful restaurants, fresh flavors, and a little touch of luxury at every stop on this foodie tour.
Grateful for healing, friendship, and food that feeds both body and soul.
